About the Workshop:
This two and a half-hour session offers a hands-on and reflective introduction to musical improvisation. But it’s not just about how to improvise on your instrument — it’s about how to react, correspond, and stay present with both musical and non-musical elements. You’ll explore the role of awareness, rhythm, tension, timing, and spontaneous decision-making through guided exercises and group interaction.
Whether you’re a professional musician or a curious beginner, this workshop will offer tools to spark your creativity and deepen your listening. This workshop led by the composer, pianist, and conductor Mazyar Younesi — known for his genre-crossing work between Persian music, jazz, and experimental forms — this workshop opens space for creativity, trust, and dialogue across sound, movement, and silence.
